Vilnius is easily accessible by air from all major European cities. It never takes more than three hours to fly from many European cities and “hubs” including Copenhagen, London, and Frankfurt.

The Vilnius International Airport is the largest airport in the country and it is situated just outside the center of Vilnius. It is only 7 km/15 min driving distance from the center of the city or a fifteen-minute drive by car.

FlyLAL – The national Airline. The airport is located just about 6 kms southeast from the town center. It operates flights to Vilnius from Amsterdam, Frankfurt/M, Helsinki, Kiev, London, Moscow, Paris and Stockholm. The Vilnius Airport (VNO) operates 11 different airlines.

For a flight to Vilnius from South Africa connecting through Frankfurt, you can book with Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines or South African Airlines. They all take the same route. Virgin Atlantic offers a 2-stop flight to Vilnius, with connections in London and then Prague.

Entry to the city is easy and affordable. Upon arrival at the airport you can rent a car, exchange currency at the Currency Exchange Bureau located on the ground floor, have a snack at cafes or spend some time in a bar. There are travel agencies, cargo carrying and express courier by air agencies, and as many as eight air companies at the airport. There are also a duty-free shop, amber and flower stalls. Free wireless internet “Airport-free” launched at Vilnius International Airport. The post office is on the first floor. Besides, there is a VIP room and a Business Club at the airport. If you came to Vilnius for a short visit, you can put up at the hotels situated next to the airport or book overnight accommodation simply in the arrival hall of the airport, on the ground floor. The medical aid station is on the second floor.

Tourists can use buses, scheduled taxi, train and taxi services to connect with the city of Vilnius.
